This 9 Days Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater Safari Tour will take you through the Northern Safari Circuit in Tanzania. Primarily, you will be visiting Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater.
Maasai Mara National Reserve derives its name from the indigenous people of Kenya – the Maasai tribe – and the Mara River that cuts through the park. The Mara is also home to the richest concentration of wildlife, including the “Big Five” (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo), zebras, antelope, gnus, oribis, hyenas, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles, hartebeests, hippos, crocodiles and others. The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-maned lion.
In the East African Country of Kenya is one of the Seven Wonders of Modern World – the wildebeest migration. The migration of wildebeest in the Maasai Mara National Reserve and by extension Serengeti National Parks have astounded the world. The wildebeest have always migrated, but nobody thought they did so in such large numbers. The Maasai Mara provides the best view of the famous wildebeest migration as the animals cross the Mara River between July and August.
A visit to the Ngorongoro Crater is an experience of a lifetime. There are few places that have wildlife densities and variety at this level. It is not unusual to see the Big Five in one day-and all this in the most amazing setting with a backdrop of the 600m/1968 ft high crater wall.
Lake Manyara National Park provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large waterbirds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks.
There is more to Serengeti than large mammals. Gaudy agama lizards and rock hyraxes scuffle around the surfaces of the park’s isolated granite koppies. A full 100 varieties of dung beetle have been recorded, as have 500-plus bird species, ranging from the outsized ostrich and bizarre secretary bird of the open grassland, to the black eagles that soar effortlessly above the Lobo Hills.

Pick up from Hotel in Nairobi, meet the rest of your group. For those with payment balance clear first. After safari briefing we depart for Nakuru through the dramatic Great Rift Valley. We shall pick our lunch boxes at the hotel and proceed to Lake Nakuru with picnic lunches for a half day game drive in the Rhino sanctuary which is home to a colony of about 25 white and black Rhinos. After breakfast, we drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. Lunch at our Lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game run. The Mara Game Reserve is one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied, and easy to see. Residents among the Park’s are: Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousand of plain game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson’s and grants Gazelles. The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During our stay, we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. Early breakfast, depart for Isebania border where after finalization with customs you will shift vehicles and driver guide and proceed to Serengeti. Very early breakfast and check out, you will drive into the Ngorongoro Crater for your game viewing and picnic lunch inside the crater.
